With only one week remaining in the Meltdown, 503 participants lost 313.7 pounds this past week.

Mifflin County Meltdown

  LEWISTOWN —The Mifflin County Meltdown is still going strong.
      With only one week remaining in the Meltdown, 503 participants lost 313.7 pounds this past week. Total weight loss for the 68 teams since the meltdown began is 2699.7 pounds.
      Total percentage of weight lost rose from 2.44 percent of participant’s body weight last week to 2.75 percent this week.
      Starting weight for all the teams combined was 98,110.30 pounds.  
      The top three teams who lost the most weight during this past week are:
    •    First Place —4 Bikini’s & A Speedo — Lost 6.13% of body weight.
    •    Second Place —OFB (Old Fat Broadcasters) WCHX — Lost 6.07% of body weight.
    •    Third Place —Kicking & Screaming— Lost 4.79% of body weight.
 
      The Mifflin County Meltdown meetings have been held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Lewistown High School auditorium since mid-February.
       The final session will be held April 6 with a wrap-up celebration. Doors open at 6 p.m. Everyone who has participated in the Meltdown is encouraged to attend this final meeting. The top weight loss teams will be announced. There will be prize giveaways, encouraging testimonials and some surprises.
       The Mifflin County Meltdown is a community event designed to raise awareness of the need to take responsibility for one’s health. It is intended to help people become fit, have fun and lose weight.
