Q: What is Mifflin County Connect?
A: Basically, it is a link exchange program hosted by VisitingMifflinCounty.com. In addition to being able to list your business or organization information in our directory (which is also free), if you decide that linking to use would be a mutual benefit, we will provide a special spot for your listing that only our partners get. This is not a written contract and you are free to end the partnership at any time but we ask you to let us know when and why you would like to end such.

Q: What is link exchange?
A: Have you ever gone to a website and see a links section or perhaps a section called affiliates? well that is link exchange. When both sites link to each other, it not only increases traffic to both sites because people tend to surf websites, it also raises their rankings in search engines. It's just nice to be a good neighbor and that's what the program is about.

Q: Do you compete with other businesses or organizations in the area with your program and directory?
A: There are similar programs in the area, mainly the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Lewistown Inc and Big Valley Bus. Assoc to name a few; however, VMC is all about the web aspect, social networking and higher end technologies. While we do cross over in some areas, each service offers its own unique aspect in getting the word out about your business or organization. I would highly suggest you check each one out on your own and see what they have to offer. We work with these groups to actually help them and support what they do in the community. It's just nice to be a good neighbor and that's what the program is about.
